A surprise at the bottom of the stairs

This one was a surprise. It was done pretty quickly and without too much hassle (that came later), it was then boarded up to minimise noise and airflow as there aren’t any windows in the downstairs yet.

This will be our doorway to our new study. Note 'interesting' attempt at insulation by stuffing tissues in the holes in the wood :)

The hassle started at 1:30 in the morning when pipe that the radiator had been removed on seemed to think it was still attached to something and started pumping water into our hall. It stopped after a few minutes and thankfully dried up OK, but it’s never nice being woken up thinking you’ve left the tap running to realise that you now have a swimming pool at the foot of the stairs.
