Proving that once and for all that reading the instructions does matter, the builders excelled once again. That’s the second floor timber frame pretty much complete already!
I came home today whilst the work was going on and, whilst there was quite a racket, it was also really interesting finding out how it all goes together.
If you notice, the panels now cover the stair window. This is officially a Good Thing as, last night, it was almost like the sun was trying to break in to the house through it.
Normally that wouldn’t be a problem. It becomes a problem when your daughter’s bedroom is directly opposite said window and she thinks the sun is coming out to play…..at 8 o’ clock at night.
It mucked up her sleep (and subsequently ours) for pretty much the rest of the night. I think my wife and I said the words “Get back to bed” about 45 (million?) times and managed a grand total of 4 hours sleep in one go. Fun.
I’ve concocted some sort of sun shield for her window using towels and pegs (the black-out blinds are on their way) so, hopefully, things’ll be better tonight. Please?
